Belagavi to Host 4th Monsoon Ultra on July 26; Registrations Now Open
Belagavi, July 13: Belagavi Endurance Sports (BES) has announced the opening of registrations for the 4th edition of the Belagavi Monsoon Ultra 2026, one of Karnataka’s premier trail-running events. The ultra marathon is scheduled to be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, featuring a brand-new cross-border route through the Western Ghats connecting Gojage (Karnataka) to Shinoli (Maharashtra). The event is designed to showcase the region’s scenic beauty while testing runners on challenging mountain terrain.

This year’s edition carries the twin social themes of “Plastic-Free Society” and “Drug-Free Youth”, encouraging environmental conservation and promoting healthy lifestyles among young people. Participants will run through monsoon forests, steep trails and nearly 1,000 metres of elevation gain, with the picturesque Sundi Waterfalls serving as the turnaround point for the flagship race.
The event will be inaugurated by Northern Range Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sandeep Patil, an accomplished endurance athlete and Ironman finisher, who is also expected to participate in the race alongside fellow runners.
Four race categories have been announced:
50K Belagavi Monsoon Ultra – ₹2,000 registration fee
25K Monsoon Endurance Run – ₹1,500 registration fee
13K Monsoon Challenge – ₹1,000 registration fee
7K Monsoon Fun Run – ₹800 registration fee
BES has also introduced strict eco-friendly measures. Participants must carry reusable hydration bottles or hydration packs, as single-use plastic bottles and cups will not be provided at aid stations. Any participant found littering along the trail will face immediate disqualification.
All finishers will receive a finisher medal, e-certificate, post-race breakfast and aid-station support. Competitive runners will also receive timing chip services. The event is officially recognized by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA), allowing participants to earn official performance points.
The registration deadline is July 20, 2026, while the race will begin from Government School, Gojage, Belagavi. The organisers expect strong participation from trail runners across India for what promises to be one of the country’s most challenging and scenic monsoon ultra races.
