Cleanliness drive led by Deputy Mayor Vani Vilas Joshi in front of Tilakwadi Government School
Belagavi: In front of the Tilakwadi Government Kannada Higher Primary School No. 5, a place meant to shape tomorrow’s future, heaps of garbage and foul smell had become a daily ordeal. Children found it difficult even to enter the school due to this unhygienic situation. Putting an end to this, Deputy Mayor Vani Vilas Joshi personally visited the spot today and took immediate action.
Responding to requests from local residents, the Deputy Mayor ensured that the garbage piled up in front of the school gate was completely cleared on Tuesday morning. She also planted a Tulsi sapling at the spot, sending a strong message of cleanliness and cultural values.
“A place where children study should not become a dumping yard. This is a sacred space that shapes their future,” said Vani Joshi.
The school entrance, which was earlier buried under garbage, has now gained a fresh and positive look with greenery and Tulsi. Local residents, teachers, and parents have highly appreciated this initiative, stating that it is not just about cleanliness, but about respecting the lives and dignity of children.
This small step taken in Tilakwadi has delivered a powerful message to the entire city of Belagavi — a clean city and safe, respected spaces for children
