Belagavi to Host 10-Day Winter Session of Karnataka Legislature from December 8.

The District Administration in Belagavi has started a strong crackdown on illegal skin care clinics. This comes after officials recently raided a clinic that was running without a licence and without qualified doctors. The people running the clinic were called to the office of DC Mohammad Roshan for questioning.

During the inquiry, the DC clearly warned that no clinic or treatment centre can run without proper permission. He said that any clinic operating without licences will face strict legal action.

15 Illegal Clinics Found in Raids

The health department, police, and district administration recently carried out a joint operation across Belagavi.
During this raid:

More than 15 illegal clinics were found

Many were offering skin treatments and giving medicines

None of them had qualified doctors or valid licences under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments (KPME) Act)

Officials also said that some clinics were treating patients for skin diseases even though they did not have the proper medical degrees. In some places, medicines were given directly to patients without permission.

Review Meeting Held

After the raids, the district administration held a detailed review meeting led by the DC.
Officers from the health department who took part in the raid were also present.

Administration Warns Clinics

DC Mohammad Roshan said that action will continue against clinics breaking medical rules. He added:
“Running a clinic without permission is illegal and puts patients’ health in danger.”

The administration has also advised people to check the licences and qualifications of clinics before taking any treatment.
