The National Investigation Agency (NIA) searched 12 places in Dantewada and Sukma districts of Chhattisgarh as part of the investigation into the 2023 Aranpur IED blast.
The blast took place near Pedka village on April 26, 2023. It was planned by the CPI (Maoist) group’s Darbha Division Committee.
What the NIA Found
During the searches, the NIA recovered:
Cash
Handwritten letters
Receipt books used by Maoists to collect money
Digital devices
These items belonged to people suspected of helping the Maoists. The NIA said these suspects were linked to the group responsible for the attack.
About the Attack
In the 2023 blast:
10 policemen and one driver were killed.
They were returning from an anti-Maoist operation.
They were travelling in a rented, unprotected van, which was hit by the IED just 700 meters from the Aranpur police station.
This raised concerns about security mistakes.
Investigation Status
The NIA has already filed two charge sheets against 27 people.
The investigation is still continuing.
