A viral video from Bengaluru’s Panathur Road is showing how badly the city’s roads are damaged. In the video, office-going techies on two-wheelers are seen riding through deep trenches, broken lanes, and even open drains. It looks more like an adventure dirt-bike track than a city road.
The main Kadubeesanahalli–Panathur Road has been closed because of white-topping work (road strengthening), which started on October 10. The BBMP had promised to finish the work by the end of October, but the project is delayed. Because of this, thousands of commuters are being forced to use narrow service roads and dug-up lanes every day.
The video has gone viral on social media. People are joking about the situation, saying techies now have to do “dirt biking” to reach office. Some even compared it to an adventure park inside the city.
Others, however, pointed out the serious issue—Bengaluru’s rapid growth is not being matched by proper planning. Locals from Panathur and Kadubeesanahalli are angry that the work is so slow and that they have no safe alternate route. They say they are risking their safety daily just to commute.
