Jemimah Rodrigues Opens Up About Mental Health After Semifinal Win Against Australia.

Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues played one of the best innings of her life in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 semifinal against Australia in Navi Mumbai. She scored an unbeaten 127 runs off 134 balls, helping India chase down a record 339-run target and reach the World Cup final.

After the match, Jemimah became emotional while talking about her journey and mental health struggles during the tournament. She revealed that she had been dealing with anxiety, self-doubt, and a lot of pressure, and even said that she had cried almost every day during the tour.

“It’s been a really hard month. It feels like a dream right now. Last year, I was dropped from the World Cup even though I was in good form. A lot of things happened that I couldn’t control. I cried almost every day on this tour,” Jemimah said after receiving the Player of the Match award.

She explained that she tried to stay strong by trusting God and motivating herself mentally.

“I kept telling myself to stay calm and believe that God will fight for me. I just stood still and let Him take care of everything,” she added.

Jemimah also thanked her family and teammates for supporting her through the tough times.

“My parents were always there for me. My friend Arundhati Reddy checked on me every single day. Smriti Mandhana also helped me — sometimes just standing near me because she knew her presence mattered. Radha Yadav was also always there taking care of me,” she shared.

She ended by saying how grateful she was to have such people around her.

“I’m blessed to have friends who are like family. I realized it’s okay to ask for help. Everyone believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.”
