Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s stunning rise continues. At just 14 years old, he scored a brilliant 113 runs from 86 balls in the first Test against Australia U19.
Young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi showed once again why he is being called the future of Indian cricket. In his very first red-ball match in Australia, he smashed a quick-fire century, scoring 113 off just 86 balls, including 8 massive sixes in Brisbane.
Opening the innings, Suryavanshi attacked the Australian bowlers from the start and made sure India did not struggle after losing a couple of early wickets. His fearless batting helped India quickly move past Australia’s first innings score on Day 2 of the Youth Test.
He got strong support from teammate Vedant Trivedi, who also batted brilliantly. Together, they built a 152-run partnership, with Trivedi also scoring a century and remaining unbeaten as India looked to build a big lead.
A teenage star on the rise
Suryavanshi has become one of the most talked-about young cricketers. Earlier this year, he made headlines when he was signed by Rajasthan Royals as the youngest-ever player in IPL history. He grabbed his chance in the 2025 season, even scoring a record-breaking century against Gujarat Titans — the fastest IPL hundred by an Indian.
Since then, he has been in superb form, shining in domestic tournaments and also in overseas tours like England. Still not even 15, Suryavanshi’s power-hitting has impressed even senior professionals.
While he still has time to grow and develop his game, his performances at the U19 level already have fans and experts wondering how soon he might get a chance at the senior level.
