Tension in Belagavi After Stone-Pelting During Urus Procession

Belagavi:

City Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase personally visited Khadak Galli on Friday night and inspected the spot where the stone-pelting incident took place.

After gathering information from locals and police officials, Borase spoke to the media. He said, “A clash broke out between two communities in Khadak Galli. Today there was a religious program. A fixed route had already been designated, but instead they came through a different route. Locals questioned this, and during that moment a clash erupted.”

He further added, “Locals have filed a complaint about the stone-pelting. Action will be taken against whoever is at fault. Fortunately, no one was injured. Elders from both communities immediately intervened and resolved the issue. They admitted that taking a different route instead of the original one was a mistake.”

On the matter of the “I Love” banner, Borase said, “We will inform the City Corporation about it. We will instruct that banners must be put up only after obtaining proper permission.”
