In Belagavi — The Kapileshwar temple authorities have falsely accused me, the son of a temple priest wrote a “death note” on his mobile and took his own life. The incident occurred at a house on Kapileshwar Road in Belagavi.
The young man who committed suicide is Siddhant Poojari (27). In the note he wrote: “When I die and go up, if I find God, I will use Him to beat those who laughed at me. I will make God beat them. When grandmother died you ate mutton; now at my death anniversary don’t eat mutton. Leave that and do whatever you want to eat. Don’t cry — if you cry, my suicide will be in vain.”
He also wrote: “I am not dying for someone else; I am dying because I couldn’t live a great life. I wanted to end my life during the Ganapati festival, but I postponed it thinking I should die only after celebrating Ganapati properly. Tell my father so as not to trouble my mother. I worked as an Archaka (temple priest) at the Kapileshwar temple. Three years ago a rape case was filed and I was expelled from the temple. My life has been ruined since then. I should have said all this with my mouth, but I am dead now — you read this.”
Khadebazar police visited the scene and are conducting an investigation. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Khadebazar police station.
