Modi Highlights RSS’s 100-Year Journey, Says ‘Nation First’ Guided Them Through Emergency.

PM Modi released a special stamp and coin to mark the RSS centenary, saying it is the first time Bharat Mata’s image has appeared on a coin in India’s history.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a special coin and postage stamp to celebrate 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

He said this is a historic moment because, for the first time ever, Bharat Mata’s image has been engraved on an Indian coin. The coin also carries the RSS motto: “Rashtray Swaha, Idam Rashtraya, Idam Na Mama” which means “Everything is for the nation, everything belongs to the nation, nothing is mine.”

Speaking at the centenary event, PM Modi said the RSS’ principle of “Nation First” gave swayamsevaks the strength to stand firm even during the Emergency.

He added that the RSS was founded on Vijayadashami (Dussehra) a century ago, which symbolises the victory of good over evil. Modi said this was not just a coincidence but a continuation of India’s ancient traditions.

“We are fortunate,” he said, “to witness the Sangh’s 100-year journey.”
