MP Jagadish Shettar has told officials to repair all roads in Belagavi immediately and keep the city clean before the upcoming Winter Session at Suvarna Vidhan Soudha.
Smart City Project Updates
Belagavi received ₹990 crore under the Smart City Mission.
Out of 108 works, 104 are completed.
Only 4 works are still pending.
Shettar asked officials to finish these remaining works quickly.
He also asked why the Kala Mandir commercial complex in Tilakwadi is still not completed and why the shops are not allotted yet. He warned that leaving them empty will cause damage and told officials to act fast or issue new tenders.
City Bus Stand and Land Issues
Shettar reviewed the progress of the new city bus stand and the transfer of land from the Cantonment Board to Belagavi City Corporation. He told officials to finish this process soon.
Park and Lake Development
Under the AMRUT scheme, ₹24 crore has been approved for improving seven lakes and parks in the city.
Shettar instructed officials to speed up these works.
Solid Waste Management Project
Shettar expressed concern about the delay in the ₹135 crore solid waste management project approved in 2023. He asked officials to find the reason for the delay and start the work quickly.
Yallamma Temple Development
In another meeting, Shettar reviewed the ₹118 crore Yallamma Temple Development Project.
The Tourism Department said the project is approved and tender papers are being checked.
Shettar asked them to finish approvals fast so work can begin.
Halga Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)
Shettar also checked the progress of the Halga STP project.
There were delays due to compensation issues with landowners.
Officials confirmed that the Cabinet has approved the revised compensation and payments will start soon.
