A big IPL trade story is developing between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). CSK is trying to bring Sanju Samson to their team, and in return, they have offered two players — Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.
RR is happy with Jadeja but not satisfied with Sam Curran as the second player. They actually want Matheesha Pathirana, but CSK does not want to release him because he is an important player for their future.
Sanju Samson had already told Rajasthan Royals that he wanted to leave the team before the December mini-auction. So RR restarted talks with CSK. Earlier, the deal failed because CSK did not want to give away any players. Now CSK is ready to offer Jadeja and Curran.
Before agreeing to this, MS Dhoni, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, and coach Stephen Fleming had long discussions with Jadeja. AFTER talking to Dhoni and others, Jadeja agreed to move to RR, and only then the trade talks moved forward.
RR also asked for Shivam Dube, but CSK refused and instead offered Sam Curran.
Now the trade is stuck because RR wants Pathirana but CSK won’t give him.
So the Sanju Samson–CSK deal is still unsure and may face more twists.
