Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are working on a big trade deal involving three players — Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, and Sanju Samson.
The trade is almost ready, but it still needs official approval from the BCCI. Until then, nothing can be confirmed.
According to Cricbuzz, the trade has reached the Expression of Interest (EOI) stage. This means the 48-hour approval process has started, even though the teams have not made any public announcement.
✅ What’s the latest update?
All three players have agreed to the trade.
A team official said that all players have “signed the documents,” but the deal will take some time to officially finish.
Even though the EOI has been submitted, CSK and RR have not yet formally informed the IPL or BCCI.
A top BCCI official said they have not received anything about this trade yet.
✅ How does an IPL trade work?
The team must send an EOI to the BCCI.
BCCI then contacts the other team, which has 48 hours to respond.
After that, the player’s written consent is taken.
Only then can the teams talk about contract changes (higher or lower fees).
After all steps are completed and approved, the trade becomes official.
✅ Special rule for Sam Curran
Since Curran is a foreign player, he may need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the England and Wales Cricket Board before the trade is allowed.
✅ Why is this trade huge?
Jadeja (CSK) and Samson (RR) both cost ₹18 crore each.
Sam Curran was bought for ₹2.4 crore.
RR had earlier asked for Dewald Brevis and then Matheesha Pathirana, but CSK said no.
Finally, Sam Curran was included in the trade offer with Jadeja.
