Delhi Red Fort Blast: Death Toll Rises to 13.

A serious blast happened near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday evening. The explosion took place in a Hyundai i20 car that was stopped at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station.

13 people have died so far, and over 20 people are injured.

Because of the blast, the Red Fort will remain closed for 3 days, and the Lal Quila metro station is closed for today.

People who were nearby said the blast was very powerful. The explosion broke windows and shook nearby buildings. Several vehicles around the car were also damaged.

Delhi Police said the car had stopped at a red light around 6:52 PM, and suddenly the explosion happened. The police, NIA, NSG, and forensic teams are checking all possible reasons for the blast.

Two men, who earlier owned the car, have been detained for questioning.

Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have been informed about the situation. Amit Shah said that all angles will be investigated, and he will hold a high-level meeting at 9:30 AM on Tuesday to review the case.

The Delhi Fire Department said they received many calls around 6:55 PM, and they sent seven fire engines to control the fire.
