The State Cabinet has approved giving one acre of land in Hindlaga (Belagavi Rural) for building a new Congress Bhavan. The land is in R.S. No. 189/1 and will be given at only 5% of the government guidance value, which makes it very affordable for the party’s local unit.
The land will be officially handed over to the Congress Bhavan Trust, Bengaluru.
After the Cabinet meeting on Thursday, Law and Tourism Minister H.K. Patil told reporters that this proposal had been pending for many years. He said that party workers from Belagavi Rural had been requesting a proper building for a long time. The new Bhavan will help both the Hindlaga community and party workers by providing a dedicated space.
At present, the Congress district office works from the RTO Circle in Belagavi city. It is used for all party meetings, but there is no separate building for rural areas. The upcoming Congress Bhavan in Hindlaga will solve this problem and will be used for rural meetings, training programs, party activities, public outreach, and discussions on social issues.
