₹11-Crore Proposal for Suvarna Vidhana Soudha Still Not Approved.

A proposal of ₹11 crore for repairing and renovating the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi has been sent to the State government twice, but it has still not been approved. This has upset many MLAs from all parties, and they plan to raise the issue in the Winter Session in December.

The Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, built in 2012 for over ₹450 crore, has not even received a new coat of paint in more than 10 years. Officials say they have repeatedly asked for funds to fix damaged buildings, broken furniture, toilets, and other basic facilities, but there has been no response.

During his recent visit, Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader said that the issue will be discussed in the upcoming session. He also said he trusts the district administration to take the matter seriously.

Around 30 government departments work from this building. Many meetings, training programs, and events happen there, which has increased the need for maintenance.

The renovation plan includes:

Repainting the whole building

Replacing old doors, windows, chairs, and carpets

Repairing internal roads and drainage

Improving the drinking water system
